In this excercise you will play phrases of increasing difficulty by ear. If you want to play solos by ear this is the most important excercise for you. Press the play button to hear a melody. Use replay to repeat it. The first tone of the melody will be marked on the keyboard. Play the melody on the keyboard. The progress bar above the play button shows how many more phrases you need to play correctly to reach the next level.
Practice every day. 20 minutes is enough. When you hear the melody, sing it. Then press repeat and sing along. Choose one key and stick to it during your ear training. At least do not change it during one session.
If your goal is to play melodies by ear, you can practice with this excercise only. If you want to train your ear specifically for intervals recognition or for absolute pitch, use this and this excercises.
To be able to play songs by ear on harmonic instrument (where you play several notes at once, like guitar or piano), use chord progressions excercise.
